Staff loyalty drives exceptional care at Nightingales

Staff loyalty drives exceptional care at Nightingales

Family-run care provider Nightingales, based in Bromley and Reigate, is celebrating its 20 longest-serving team members, some with over 30 years of service, highlighting a rare success story in staff retention in the care sector.

As the social care sector continues to face recruitment and retention challenges, one family-run provider is showing that loyalty and outstanding care go hand in hand. Nightingales, based in the South East, is celebrating the incredible dedication of its long-standing team, and sharing the approach that’s kept them together for over four decades.

In an industry where high staff turnover is the norm, Nightingales is proving that loyalty still exists, and that it makes all the difference.

At the end of last month founders Nick and Sarah Bruce treated their longest serving team members to a celebratory lunch at Chapter One Restaurant in Farnborough. Each had been with the company for over ten years, with the longest-serving reaching more than thirty.

“We’ve always believed that if you care deeply about your team, they’ll care deeply about clients. That’s why we introduced shared ownership,” said co-founder Sarah Bruce. “It means the whole team is genuinely invested in what we’re building together. Our staff don’t just work for us, they grow with us.”

Nightingales is a family-run care provider offering boutique elderly care through two intimate homes, Nettlestead in Bromley and Priors Mead in Reigate. They also operate a respected home care agency across the South East. With a reputation built over four decades, Nightingales consistently earns top ratings of 9.9 or 10 out of 10 from both clients and their families.

“At the end of the day, care is personal,” Sarah added. “You can’t deliver truly exceptional care without people who feel valued and empowered to give their best — and our team does that every single day.”
