Who are our live-in carers

Who are our live-in carers?

You can rest assured that if you work with us, you will be assigned a qualified carer. They receive in-house expert introduction training as well as ongoing refresher training to keep their skills up to date with industry best practices. We conduct background checks and in-person evaluations and ask the simplest and most effective question: “Would I trust this person to look after my mother?”

They have been thoroughly vetted, interviewed, and the Disclosure and Barring Service has provided them with an enhanced check (DBS). They will always arrive on time, greet you with a friendly smile, and be courteous and helpful. We only hire people who we would want to take care of our own family.

How it works
How Live-In Care Works

Frequently asked questions

Live-in care: how does it work?

If you’re looking for professional care for your loved one, but not comfortable with them being in a residential or nursing home then this is a perfect solution. Care can be provided within their home where it’s comfortable and secure, ensuring your loved one is relaxed and provides continuity to their environment.

Please get in touch and we provide you guidance to the best possible solution or find out more about how live-in care works.

Who is live-in care suitable for?

Live-in care is an ideal choice for anybody that requires support within their own home. We want to encourage our clients to maintain their independence and continue living in a homely but protected environment. We support clients with multiple conditions including mobility concerns and dementia, there’s no restriction to the clients we support.

How quickly can we find a suitable Live-in Carer?

We aim to locate you a suitable carer within 3-5 days after the examination is completed. This varies depending on your requirements and meeting arrangements for suitability.

What are my funding options for Live-In Care?

While it’s possible to self-fund live-in care through savings, pensions or help from family, there are a number of options available for financial support. Give us a call on 0800 612 9132 or enquiry@nightingales.co.uk and we’ll be happy to guide you.

How will I be matched with a carer?

Nightingales Live -In will send various profiles of the carers which match your requirements.

We will then arrange for the client and all loved ones to have an informal meeting with the live-in carer. This might be completed via the use of technology depending on where the carer is based, although we’re keen to provide you with various options for carers.

Where do live-in carers stay?

Live-in carers would move into the spare room. This would make them readily available whenever the loved one may require assistance.

Can I choose a female or a male?

Yes, we will support our clients to feel comfortable within their own homes. If possible, we can provide you with various carers to choose from, each will have a detailed profile so you’re able to choose your preferences.

What happens if I don’t like my carer?

We meet the needs of your loved one in finding the best match for you, this will be based on interests, skills, qualifications and personality type.

Before we make any arrangements and they move in, we will encourage you to meet them face to face or via Zoom depending on the location they will be coming from. If you do have any problems, feel free to contact us anytime and we can make arrangements for your replacement.
