Personal care in hospital
Comfort, companionship and extra support, when you need it most
A hospital stay can be tiring and unsettling – for both patients and their families. While doctors and nurses focus on treatment and recovery, our role is to provide that extra layer of one-to-one personal care and companionship to make your stay more comfortable.
With the full approval and cooperation of hospital staff, our experienced carers can:
Help with washing, dressing and toileting
Offer support at mealtimes, including feeding if required
Provide company, conversation and reassurance
Accompany you to appointments within the hospital
Be a familiar, friendly presence alongside NHS staff
Keep in touch with your family
Rest assured, this is not about replacing or duplicating the vital work of hospital teams – it’s about complementing their care, giving you or your loved one the comfort, dignity and attention that only dedicated one-to-one support can provide.
Whether for a few hours a day or longer periods, we’re here to make every hospital stay less stressful and more reassuring.
Who will help me?
As with all our services you will be looked after by one of Nightingale’s fully trained carers, whose exact hours can be tailored to your needs.
