Our facilities – Furnishings you would be delighted to find in
your own home
When it comes to our facilities, both our homes have been fully refurbished to the same high standards, and are now quite unlike any other care home.
Just because our clients may need support, we believe there is no need for them to be reminded of it. Often visitors are surprised that those items, which make life so much easier, but tend to make other homes feel like a hospital too, have been fitted so discretely.
For example, our support
handles look like elegant polished steel towel rails, and
our bath and shower would look more at home in a luxury spa. In fact many people compare us to a country-house hotel.
There is a choice of lounges which, like our bedrooms, are furnished with elegant, coordinated fabrics, matching furniture and are carpeted throughout. The quality of our en-suite bathroom fittings puts others to shame, and each room has its own direct-dial large-button phone, satellite TV socket and broadband internet access.
Food is undoubtedly one of the highlights of life in the home and you will find sample menus in the Prices and Information link to the left. Breakfast includes a choice of freshly cooked options for those with an appetite, with most choices throughout the day being home-made, and not forgetting a glass of sherry to aid the digestion. Our expanding activities and entertainments programme ensures that the time between meals is no less pleasurable.
And outside, the large, level gardens and expansive decking provide a safe environment for our residents to enjoy any good weather that comes our way. But we are not resting on our laurels (excuse the pun). Plans are afoot to add raised flower borders for those of our residents with green fingers, as well as themed areas, such as colour and aroma, for those who prefer to enjoy their gardens from more of a distance.
One of the most important features of our home you are unlikely to notice. When our clients need support all they have to do is press the Call-Bell button, and in other homes this would set a cacophony of buzzers ringing throughout the home. To us, noise pollution is no different to any other types of pollution, and whilst our Call-Bell system will summon instant support, it does so silently. Each carer wears a pager that alerts them by vibrating, whilst also letting them know where their support is needed and how urgently.
If you are interested in what goes on behind the scenes, our kitchens and laundries are state-of-the-art too. Whilst many homes contract these services out, we feel these are some of the areas where our quality shows through.
It is impossible to put in words everything our homes have to offer, although we are delighted that most of our visitors are able to sum us up more succinctly as the various quotes we have included throughout this website show.
